Ban Piang Ngam Community
Lodge - The Ban Piang Ngam Community Lodge was built as apart of the UNESCO
Nam Ha Ecotourism Project. It was originally intended for the trekkers on
the easy overnight trek to stay in. In 2004 the villagers are going to open
the lodge up to whomever would like to stay.
The village of Ban Piang Ngam
is an easy walk from the Luang Namtha Airport and the Boat Landing Guest
House. The community lodge is simple village house. The villagers are your
hosts during your stay and all of your meal are provided for. Staying in Ban
Piang Ngam gives you the chance to see village life as it really is. You can
see the production of silk textiles for start to finish. Work with the
villagers in the fields. Sing songs with the children at school or play
sports with the boys in the evening.
It is all pretty simple to
arrange. You can book your stay through the Boat Landing Guest House or the
Luang Namtha Tourism Office (856-86-211-534) -

Located in the heart of the
old district of Luang Prabang, VILLA CHITDARA is a new beautiful, refined
and finished 15 room guesthouse on Khounsua Road. From the courtyard or your
private balcony you can admire the Monks collecting alms in the early
mornings. Then, you can enjoy your buffet breakfast in our quiet terrace.
You will not find a more
central place than ours. Close to all major attractions in old Luang Prabang,
our guesthouse is also located in a quiet and a peaceful back street. This
is the perfect place for your to base your Luang Prabang experience.
Right
in the heart of the Heritage centre, on the banks of
the Nam Khan, (the quiet side of town) The Apsara, as
well as having seven rooms, all with air-con, fan,
bathroom and terrace with a view to die for (but you
don't have to), also has a restaurant serving modern
European and Asian food and the driest Martinis in
town.
Room
service is available including manicures and massage.
Because we only have seven rooms we are able to offer
a unique service. It is possible to take over the
hotel for a special celebration or just a week-end
away with friends. We can arrange days out with
picnics on the Mekong, organize traditional dancing
displays or even a "Baci" or blessing. We
would also be happy to make special menu arrangements.
The only condition is that you have to take all seven
rooms.
